Information | This is a natural balcony from which to enjoy a wonderful view... |
Moving to the sides of the Castle of Rosignano, you will reach a natural balcony which offers an amazing view: from the Alps to the plains of Milan, from the Monferrato to the Ligurian Apennines. It is the hill on which Rosignano Monferrato is set and it has been object of recent geological studies carried out by the University of Turin and by the National Geological Society because of its peculiarities and natural characteristics.
If you walk down the whole balcony, reaching the two crenellated towers of Castello Mellana, you will have the impression of being in a medieval village and then at the foot of a little Spoleto.
All along the itinerary, in Viale Repubblica, you can find a totem which shows the “quarries” of Rosignano, from which we used to extract the precious “Pietra da Cantoni”, and a “geological table” which illustrates the peculiarities and the characteristics of this territory.
