It was born in 1886. It is an institute with a precious tradition, which evolved as the time went by becoming like an English College with school, male and female boarding school and an agricultural enterprise. One of its peculiarity is the experimentation in the wine-sector and in the olive-sector. The institute is also the headquarter of the CO.BAR (Consortium of Protection of the Barbesino Red Wine of the Monferrato Hills).
