Angelo Morbelli, one of the main representants of the Italian Pointillism, whose works of art are exposed in the most important national and international art galleries, lived in the hamlet Colma for about half a century. His house, Villa Maria, which belongs nowadays to some heirs of the famous painter, welcomed many other artists of that time. The medallions on the pediment, which represent the faces of Segantini, Bistolfi, Pellizza da Volpedo, Longoni, Quadrelli and so on, are proof of their transition in this area. Villa Maria preserve the Morbelli’s Studio, the garden and a documental heritage, which testifies an artistic period of which Rosignano and its hills were models.
